How to Apply

Children will be chosen to participate in Starting Strong Rapid City based on a number of factors, including financial need. Community scholarships will pay the ENTIRE cost of the preschool program for those selected. There will be no additional fees for preschool. Preschool scholarships do not cover additional childcare costs.

To see if your child is eligible, you can download the application on this page, call us at 605-342-6464 to request an application be mailed or emailed, or stop by the Early Childhood Connections office at 3645 Sturgis Road Suite 110 in Rapid City.

Parents of children selected for the program will choose from among the participating preschool providers who meet the Starting Strong Rapid City Program Standards.

Parents must be willing to take part in the Starting Strong program as described in the attached form: Expectations for Parents.
